How Angelina Jolie found 'God' on the job
Ange's spiritual gift
Whether it will earn her a coveted Best Director Oscar nomination remains to be seen, but Angelina Jolie is already giving Unbroken big props for helping her discover her spiritual side.
Ange explained her new awakening while talking to People magazine about what she learned from Louis Zamperini, the late World War II hero who inspired the film.
"When there is an obstacle, you have to rise to the challenge, not be overwhelmed by it," she said. "And we're not alone in the world."
It may have been a bit of extra divine intervention that helped Unbroken score a $40 million-plus opening weekend in the US, well exceeding industry expectations.
Does this mean she and Brad Pitt will be dragging their brood to Sunday church services from now on? Well, Ange may not be ready to roll out the red carpet for a traditional Supreme Being just yet, but she's definitely a believer now.
"I don't know," she added, "if there's a name for that — religion or faith — just that there's something greater than all of us, and it's uniting and beautiful."
Can we get an amen?
