Harry Potter star Rupert Grint joins Instagram and shares first photo of baby daughter

Harry Potter star Rupert Grint joined Instagram some five hours ago and he has already raked in 1.5 million followers.

The British actor joked that his presence on the social media platform was 10 years too late, but better late than never, right?

"Hey Instagram....only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram!" the 32-year-old wrote in his first post.

Grint's appearance on the platform also delighted fans as he shared a first look at his six-month-old daughter, while also revealing her name.

"Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint," he added. "Stay safe, Rupert."

The Harry Potter star — he played Ron Weasley in the franchise's entire run from 2001 to 2011 — welcomed his daughter with long-term girlfriend Georgia Groome back in May. 

"Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl," his publicist Clair Dobbs said in the statement. "We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time."

In an interview with The Guardian back in 2018, Grint revealed he was ready to settle down and even joked about naming a future child after his Harry Potter character.

"I'd like to settle down and have kids soon," he said. "If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It's quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint's a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with."
