Harrison Ford became a real-life hero after he stepped in to help a crew member who was having a heart attack on set.

The Hollywood star, 79, rushed to the aid of the male worker after he collapsed on the set of the latest Indiana Jones instalment, according to The Sun.

"Harrison was standing just yards away and yelled for a medic," a source told the outlet.

"There was a huge amount of panic. The on-site first aider did CPR while they waited for an air ambulance and paramedics to arrive."

This isn't the first time an incident has happened behind the scenes of the Indiana Jones franchise. In November last year, Nic Cupac, a crew member who had been working on location in Morrocco for the upcoming fifth film, was found dead in his hotel room in the city of Fes.

"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Nic Cupac, an incredibly talented colleague and member of the film community who will be greatly missed," a rep for the production said at the time. "His sudden passing was not production-related. Nic was a grip on 2nd unit."

Ford has also made headlines in the past for stepping in and rescuing people from major accidents. In 2017, the Oscar winner and a friend aided a woman whose car rolled off a highway north of Los Angeles.

The actor has also been involved in a number of on set injuries. In 2016, he revealed he was almost killed by a faulty door while working on Star Wars. While last year in October, Ford sustained a shoulder injury on the set of Indiana Jones 5, which required him to take a hiatus from filming.

"In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder," a Disney spokesperson said in a statement at the time.
