Gossip Girl split: Blake Lively and Penn Badgley call it quits

Well, this might explain why Penn Badgley is so unenthusiastic about Gossip Girl these days: he and his co-star Blake Lively have called off their three-year romance.

No word yet on the reasons behind the split, though People reports it came as a surprise to those working on the set of the teen drama.

"It didn't seem like anything was off at all and no one said anything," blabbed an insider.

Fellow Gossip Girl couple Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr also split up earlier in 2010, though they've reportedly reunited in recent months. Maybe Blake and Penn will do the same? Must be pretty awkward to have to keep hanging around your ex every day...
