Glee stars remember Naya Rivera on the first anniversary of her death

Naya Rivera's Glee co-stars are remembering the late actress one year after her tragic death.

Rivera, 33, went missing after renting a pontoon boat with her then four-year-old son Josey, on Lake Piru, just outside of Los Angeles in 2020. Five days later, her remains were found.

Heather Morris, who played Brittney in Glee, has paid tribute to her late co-star and best friend with a tattoo, which she revealed in an emotional Instagram post.

"It hasn't gotten easier to write a caption," Morris, 34, wrote. "You are the brightest star in my eyes Naya Rivera. I'm so grateful GOD LAYED A HAND and brought us together as best friends, mum friends, scene partners, and everything in between.

"Your legacy lives on in kindness and being 'that sassy queen' in my eyes. I love you forever bebe girl."

The actress's post also included a clip of her getting the tattoo, taken from a line in Rivera's last post to social media before her accident, "tomorrow is not promised."

Morris wasn't the only Glee star to pay tribute to the late actress on the first anniversary of her death.

Rivera's mother and sister have also paid tribute to the actress on the first anniverary of her death, appearing on Good Morning America.

"Sometimes we're afraid of the sorrow being so heavy that we're afraid for our own self, 'cause this is hard. There are no words to describe what we're going through," her mother Yolanda Previtire said. "All we know is we have each other."
