Shania Twain considered quitting music for good after husband left her for best friend
"Man! I feel like a woman!" Shania Twain sang on one of her biggest hits. But it takes a particularly strong one to bounce back from losing her husband to her best friend.
Shania, 49, told the New York Post she was so devastated when her husband, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, ditched her for her BFF Marie-Anne Thiebaud in 2008 that she almost quit music completely.
"When that happened, I thought, 'Forget it, this is more than I can handle – I'm never going to sing again,'" Twain said. "I had to grieve through it."
In big-screen-worthy twist of fate, Shania ended up marrying her ex-BFF's ex, Swiss-born Nestlé exec Frédéric Thiébaud, in 2011. Not a bad recovery, right?
