Ewan McGregor's estranged wife, Eva Mavrakis, wasn't a fan of his unexpected Golden Globes acceptance speech.

While accepting his Globe for playing twins Emmit and Ray Stussy on Fargo, McGregor gave a special shoutout to Mavrakis, whom he separated from in late 2017, and his new love, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who he met on the Fargo set.

"I want to take a moment to just say thank you to Eve, who always stood by me for 22 years, and my four children Clara, Esther, Jamyan and Anouk," the 46-year-old actor said on stage January 7, acknowledging his family with Mavrakis.

"And I've always loved being an actor and I love hanging out with actors and I got amazing actors to work with on this," he continued.

"There wouldn't have been Emmit Stussy without David Thewlis and Michael Stuhlbarg and Carrie Coon and there wouldn't have been a Ray without Mary Elizabeth Winstead, so thank you very much."

Mavrakis, who separated from McGregor in late 2017 after 22 years of marriage, told the Daily Mail she was none too pleased.

"No, I did not like his speech," she told the outlet.

And when pressed as to why, Mavrakis reportedly said, "For the same reasons you are here asking me about it. I am not going to say any more."

The 46-year-old French production designer and McGregor met on set of British TV series Kavanagh QC and married in 1995. They share four daughters: Clara, 21, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 15, and Anouk, 6.

McGregor and Winstead, 33 – who split from director Riley Stearns last May – were first spotted out together in London in October 2017 and soon took their romance public with a hand-held stroll.

When a fan asked Mavrakis in November how she felt knowing her husband would "end things" with her for Winstead, she replied on Instagram, "What can I do?"

Neither McGregor nor Mavrakis have publicly confirmed their split.
