Ewan McGregor marries Mary Elizabeth Winstead in 'small' ceremony after four years together

Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have tied the knot.

According to People, the Fargo co-stars married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony after four years together.

"It was a small wedding for family and close friends," a source told the publication.

"They had an outdoor ceremony. It was lovely and joyful. The menu was farm-to-table. They are an adorable couple. They are pretty low-key and like their canyon life. They often hike and go to the beach."

McGregor, 51, and Winstead, 37, have been romantically linked since 2017 after meeting on the set of their TV series Fargo in late 2016. The pair were spotted kissing in photos published by The Sun, while Ewan was still married to his now-ex-wife — Eve Mavrakis.

In May 2017, Winstead split from husband Riley Stearns after seven years of marriage.

Months later, the Trainspotting star filed for divorce from Mavrakis, 55, in January 2018 after 22 years of marriage. Later in November 2019, McGregor asked a judge to declare him and Mavrakis single before finalising their divorce. In summer 2020, McGregor and Mavrakis settled their divorce.

McGregor shares four children with Mavrakis: Clara, 26, Jamyan, 20, Esther, 20, and Anouk, 11. Meanwhile, McGregor and Winstead share a son, Laurie, whom they welcomed in June 2021.

It appears McGregor's daughter Clara and Winstead are on good terms as of late, but it wasn't always the case. In 2018, Clara took a swipe at the actress, dissing her on an Instagram fan page.

"Most beautiful and talented woman on earth?? Oh man y'all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash x," Clara commented on a photo of Winstead, which she later said she regretted writing.

"It wasn't the most mature way to go about things, but I was angry and upset," she explained in an interview with The Times. "There had been a lot building up to it and a lot to deal with — not to make excuses or anything — but, yeah, it wasn't my finest moment."

"I wish them all the best, but I'm staying out of that, for sure," she added.
