The star midfielder is engaged to Kat Thompson, a digital content creator who has thousands of followers across her Instagram and TikTok channels.

Here's everything that the couple has shared about their relationship.
2022: van Egmond meets Thompson online while she's living in San Diego, playing for the city's team in the US Women's League. The couple met online, though they haven't given any specifics about how.
"From the first date there's never been holding back, it's been so comfortable – as if I've known her a lot longer," the creator later told New Idea of her athlete fiancée.

February 2023: To celebrate Valentine's Day, Thompson shares a cute Reel to her Instagram page, compiling a bunch of videos of the couple together.
Despite being very active on social media, it's the first time she's shown van Egmond on her page.
April 2023: van Egmond posts a photo with Thompson to her Instagram page for the first time.
"Here for the hard launch," her San Diego teammate Maddie Pogarch comments.
"I feel like she brings out a really good side of me," the soccer star later told New Idea. "I'm very happy."

May 2023: van Egmond popped the question, asking Thompson to marry her while the couple stood on a cliff overlooking the ocean in California.
"Forever yes," she captioned the post on Instagram.
van Egmond actually designed the ring herself, and Thompson says she was totally blindsided by the proposal.
She told the magazine New Idea that she had "no clue" what was happening at the time. "I was crying," she added.
The Matildas star also revealed to the magazine that their plan is to tie the knot in Australia.
"We are aiming for the summer," she said, adding, "It's not going to be a massive crazy wedding."

July 2023: van Egmond heads to Australia to join her fellow Matildas in prepping for the world cup.
