Elon Musk shares rare family photo with Grimes and son X Æ A-Xii

Elon Musk has shared a rare photo with his girlfriend Grimes and their son, X Æ A-Xii.

The Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder, 49, uploaded the family snap via Twitter from "Starbase," a town in Texas where he wants to create a city.

Their location comes as a reference to Musk's announcement made on Twitter last week. "Creating the city of Starbase, Texas," he tweeted on March 2. "From thence to Mars, And hence the Stars."

Musk has shared a number of photos of him with his son, who turns one in May, updating his fans and followers on social media.

"The Second Last Kingdom," Musk captioned the image, in reference to the haircut Grimes gave X Æ A-Xii back in January, "inspired" by one of her favourite TV shows, The Last Kingdom. On one hand, he appears to be taking an important phone call while holding his son in the other.

Meanwhile, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, shared a photo of her giving her son his first haircut. "Haircut inspired by the last kingdom on Netflix which is a masterpiece," Grimes wrote to her Instagram Story at the time.

The 'Oblivion' singer's most recent post of X Æ A-Xii was shared via her Instagram in February, it is the only photo she has of him on her account.

"Tell me the waters of your homeworld," she captioned her post.

Grimes, 32, and Musk, who made their debut as a couple at the Met Gala in 2018, welcomed their first child together on May 4, 2020.

"Grimes has a much bigger role than me right now," he told The New York Times of his girlfriend, whom he also referred to as "one of the most unusual people I've ever met".

Musk, who was married three times, twice to Talulah Riley, has five sons from his eight-year marriage to author Justine Wilson — twins Xavier and Griffin, and triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai.
