Elon Musk has spoken out about his growing estrangement from his 18-year-old daughter, Vivian.

The Tesla CEO opened up about their fractured relationship in a new interview with the Financial Times, telling the outlet he believes she's grown distant because she's been poisoned by "neo-Marxists" influences at educational institutions.

"It's full-on communism and a general sentiment that if you're rich, you're evil," Musk said, who did not specify which college Vivian is attending.

However, the 51-year-old has not ruled out the chance of reconciliation as their relationship "may change" in the future. Although, if they continue to be estranged, Musk remains unbothered as he says he's got nine other children.

"I have very good relationships with all the others," said the father of 10. "Can't win them all."

Musk shares Vivian and her twin brother, Griffin, with his ex-wife Justine Wilson. They exes also share 16-year-old triplets Saxon, Kai and Damian.

The billionaire engineer is also the father of son X AE A-XII, two, and daughter Exa, 10 months, with singer Grimes. In November 2021, he welcomed twins with a colleague, venture capitalist Shivon Zilis.

The interview comes four months after Vivian's request to have her name and gender changed was granted by a California judge.

"There being no objections, the petition for change of name, recognition of change of gender, and issuance of new birth certificate is granted," the judge ruled.

The judge also recognised Vivian's gender as female and ruled a new birth certificate be issued to reflect the changes.

According to the publication, Vivian actually submitted her request on April 18, shortly after her 18th birthday. In her filing, she also asked to be disassociated from her billionaire father.

"Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form," as the reasons she stated in her court documents.
