'Married At First Sight' star Davina says she gets 'a lot of d--- pics', but no dates post-show

She was one of the most controversial participants on Married At First Sight Season 5, and Davina Rankin says that since the show wrapped, she's struggled to find love in the real world.

The 27-year-old Brisbanite says she's gotten a lot of attention from men since appearing on the hit show, but not necessarily for the right reasons.

"I get a lot of d--- pics, but no one wants to date me," she told The Daily Telegraph, acknowledging that her actions on the show could have something to do with her current singledom.

"No one was watching how I acted on that show going, 'I want to date her'," she lamented.

Ever the optimist, Rankin said there was a silver lining to her reputation.

"I don't want to date someone who judges me anyway, so it's filtering out the bad ones," she reasoned.

Married to tradie Ryan Gallagher during the experiment, the model shocked when she attempted to start a relationship with fellow participant Dean Wells while he was married to Tracey Jewel.

"We are in a very crazy experiment, anything can happen," Rankin justified during MAFS' final episode, prompting opinionated participant Nasser Sultan to hit back, taking a stab at her Instagram persona.

"You're blaming the experiment… Darling, you've got to grow up, it's not all about #Davina, #CoconutOil. You're playing with people's lives," he told her.

Fellow bride Sarah Roza then pointed out, "This experiment is Married At First Sight, not 'Dating At First Sight', or 'Hookups At First Sight'."

Speaking on 97.3FM's Bianca, Terry and Bob show on Thursday, Rankin maintained that her intentions were genuine.

"I thought in my mind that it was worth stepping on a few toes to find love," she said.

Jewel confronted Rankin a few times on the show, most recently telling her that her actions were a major factor in Jewel's final decision to dump Wells.

"I'm really happy with Sean, but I want you to know that one of the main reasons Dean and I didn't work was because of what you did," she bluntly told the Queenslander at the reunion dinner party.

"You don't win people like that by doing that," he said. "If you fire up, they're going to win."

He added: "The best thing you can do is move on and be with someone else - that'll show them why they're still lonely."
