David Beckham gets emotional about cutting daughter Harper's hair

David Beckham's daughter is growing up right before his eyes!

The 43-year-old father of four shared an emotional post to Instagram as he took a pair of scissors to cut his 7-year-old daughter's long hair.

Harper is pictured smiling at the prospect of her new hairdo, while her famous soccer-playing dad looks like he could shed a tear at any minute.

"Someone's happy & someone's not so happy," commented the now retired sports star. "But I didn't think it was possible for this little one to look anymore beautiful but ♥️," he added.

The special father-daughter moment comes just three weeks after Harper celebrated her seventh birthday.

The proud dad also shared a cute pic of him with his only daughter on her birthday.

"Harper Seven has turned 7. Happy birthday to my big girl!! This little one is so loved by her brothers, mummy and daddy … special, special little girl ♥️ Makes me smile every single day ♥️."

"Happy Birthday baby girl," read a caption on an Instagram pic from Harper's mother, Victoria Beckham. "We love u so so much x so many kisses!!! X Mummy, Daddy, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruzie x," added the 44-year-old former Spice Girl.

Victoria recently came under fire for allowing her eldest son, Brooklyn, 19, to get a bunch of tattoos. After sharing a snap to her followers of her shirtless son driving, eagle-eyed fans noticed Brooklyn's new ink straight away. Some of Victoria's followers immediately began to call into question her parenting skills over her teenage son's vast number of tattoos.

Motherhood and married life are not easy, especially when you're constantly berated for your parenting skills and plagued with divorce rumours.

Breaking her silence last month to Hello! Magazine, Victoria said, "I try really, really hard. I try hardest to be the best mother. I am trying to be the best wife and the best professional. When I get home, I try to put the phone down and spend time with the children and spend time with David."

And despite constant speculation that they're headed for splitsville, the glamorous couple just celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary, so they must be doing something right!
