Aussie actress and singer Danielle Spencer shares worrying update from hospital bed

Aussie singer Danielle Spencer has shocked fans with an update from a hospital bed.

The 56-year-old shared a snap of herself lying in a hospital wearing a hospital gown and sunglasses.

"…Meanwhile, completely out of left field-I thought I'd take a short break from music to have myself a splenic aneurysm🙄" she shared on Instagram.

"Hooray for the surgeons of the world, who boldly go where most of us could not conceive of going. Huge respect and gratitude 🙏💫"

Many shared well-wishes for the Aussie singer in the comments.

Aussie actress Georgie Parker wrote, "Oh honey, hope you have a speedy recovery ❤️❤️❤️❤️"

The Aussie singer recently made a comeback after a 14-year hiatus.

Known for the film The Crossing and the show Hampton Court, as well as songs such as Blast Off and On Your Side, the actress recently celebrated the release of her powerful new single, Regenerate.

Speaking to 9honey Celebrity about her new music, Spencer admits it's "the right time" for her to return to what she knows and loves.

Spencer previously said in an interview that she had prioritised motherhood over her career. But with her two sons with Russell Crowe now grown up, she's ready.

"It feels like the right time for me. I feel really positive about putting music out," Spencer says.

"The music industry is in a strange place in a lot of ways, but for me personally, this just feels right for me at this time. I feel excited about it and ready to do it."

"I hope it translates that feeling that we all have the capability to constantly restart ourselves," Spencer says about Regenerate.

Spencer was previously married to actor Russell Crowe, sharing her children Charles, born in 2003, and Tennyson, born in 2006 with him. They separated in 2012 and officially divorced in 2018.

Since 2016, Spencer has been in a relationship with author and artist Adam Long.
