Daniel Radcliffe thinks he'd get into Twitter fights if he had social media

Daniel Radcliffe has no intention of joining the world of social media.

During the season finale of the YouTube web series Hot Ones, the Harry Potter actor, 31, discussed his reluctance to jump on Twitter, explaining that he believes he'd frequently get into arguments with people.

"I would love to say there's some sort of intellectual, well thought out reason for this," Radcliffe said during the December 3 episode.

"Cause I considered getting a Twitter and I 100 per cent know that if I did, you all would be waking up to stories like 'Dan Radcliffe gets into fight with a random person on Twitter'."

Radcliffe explained, "When I was younger, not anymore thank God, I would like to look up comments about myself on the internet and read s--t like that. That is an insane and bad thing to do. And to me, like Twitter and everything just feels like an extension of that. Unless I want to go just read all nice things about myself, which also feels like another healthy thing to do."

While Radcliffe doesn't have a social media presence, he hasn't remained quiet on issues that are important to him.

On June 6, Radcliffe responded to author J.K. Rowling's controversial anti-trans tweets.

"Transgender women are women," Radcliffe wrote in an essay posted to the website of the Trevor Project, a non-profit dedicated to crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQI+ people. "Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I."
