Tim Craig, father of James Bond star Daniel Craig, dies at 77

Tim Craig, the father of Hollywood actor Daniel Craig, has died at the age of 77 after a battle with liver cancer.

The late businessman, who lived with his wife Kirsty in Shropshire, England, passed away at his home on Thursday, according to Cheshire Live.

The outlet also stated that Daniel and the actor's half-brother Harry were by his side at the time of his death.

Tim previously told the publication that he and his son preferred to keep their lives out of the public eye.

"He doesn't talk about me and I don't talk about him, but naturally I am extremely proud of him as he is a very fine actor," Tim said.

Daniel's publicist Laura Symons confirmed the family would not be giving a statement.

In 2006, Tim attended the regional premiere of Casino Royale with Kirsty. Two years later, they showed support for their son and attended the premiere of Quantum of Solace.

Tim spent much of his life as a director for a recruitment company in his wife's name, Kirsty Craig Associates. The business was based in Chester.

The news comes as Daniel's final role in the fifth Bond movie No Time to Die is scheduled for release on November 12 in Australia.

The movie's initial release was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The highly-anticipated movie also stars Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Ana de Armas. Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge came on board as a writer for the film.
