Comedian John Mulaney reportedly in 'outpatient sober care' after completing 60-day rehab stint

American comedian John Mulaney has reportedly left rehab after completing a 60-day stint.

The Saturday Night Live alum checked into care in late December due to his reported struggles with alcohol and cocaine addiction. But today Page Six reports the 38-year-old is no longer at the Pennsylvania facility.

"John has completed 60 days in rehab and now he's in outpatient sober care," a source told the outlet. "He is doing well, although he is still not ready to return to work."

Mulaney, a two-time Emmy winner, has always been open about his battle with addiction, often speaking about his sobriety in previous stand-up shows and interviews. 

In his 2012 Netflix special New in Town, he said, "I don't drink. I used to drink, then I drank too much, and I had to stop. That surprises a lot of audiences, because I don't look like someone who used to do anything."

He went in-depth in an interview with Esquire in 2019, telling the magazine, "I drank for attention. I was really outgoing, and then at 12, I wasn't. I didn't know how to act. And then I was drinking, and I was hilarious again."

Soon he was also doing cocaine but in 2005 attempted to give it up along with alcohol. 

"I went on a bender that weekend that was just, like, fading in and out of a movie," he recalled. "It was just crazy. A weekend that was ... there were ... I'm never going to tell you. That's mine.

"I didn't kill anyone or assault anyone. But yeah, I was like, You're f--king out of control. And I thought to myself, I don't like this guy anymore. I'm not rooting for him."
