Cody Simpson says he's 'four months sober & still stoned' amid relationship with Miley Cyrus
Cody Simpson is on a path towards a more productive life.
The Gold Coast native and hit singer-songwriter took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday, posting a photo of himself that he captioned, "Four months sober & still stoned." The comment could be a euphemism for how well things are going with his current girlfriend, pop superstar Miley Cyrus.

The couple has posted their love all over social media since September, when they were first linked on — you guessed it — Instagram. Before striking up a romance with Simpson, 22, Cyrus, 26, briefly dated The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter before formally announcing her split from her husband, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, after less than a year of marriage.
As for Simpson's sobriety, he spoke even more about it recently on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, telling the radio hosts that, "We keep each other in a good place. That's what's really healthy about it and I think that's the first time I've had that in a relationship. We're very, very much on the same page."
"I haven't had a drink in a while," he added. "I actually stopped drinking the day I started filming The Masked Singer Australia. Everything since then for me has just been going great, so I kind of owe it all to just being really efficient and sharp. I won the show so it much have worked!"

Simpson also clarified that his drinking was "not excessive," but he was inspired to taper off because "it was affecting my productivity which, I just hate that feeling." He said he planned to stay sober for "as long as it feels good."
And as for Cyrus' use of alcohol, he said, "She doesn't have plans either to touch it again."
