Nickelodeon child star Christy Knowings dies aged 46

Christy Knowings, star of Nickelodeon sketch show All That, has died. She was 46.
According to TMZ, a family member confirmed the former child star passed away after suffering an asthma attack.

The publication reports Knowings was hospitalised on Friday, August 7 and put on life support. She died on Tuesday, August 11.
“Christy was a multi-talented lady. Whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating,” Knowings manager Al Hill said in a statement shared with Variety.
“Always professional and dedicated to her work.”
Knowings first appeared in All That in 1997, starring in over 30 episodes before her final appearance in 1999.
She was first discovered on a pilot for Rosie O’Donnell’s sketch show, And Now This. During her time on All That, Knowings crossed paths with several of the show’s stars, including Amanda Bynes, Kel Mitchell and Keenan Thompson.
After learning of Knowing’s death, Thompson took to social media to remember his late co-star.
“Man this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!!” He wrote.
“Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!!
“Gonna miss you buddy!!! Show @christyknowings some love y’all!!!”
In 2009, Knowings went on to appear in Mother and Child. She had a small role in the film, which was led by Annette Bening, Naomi Watts and Samuel L. Jackson. She also has a writing credit on the movie.
Her most recent works include credits for three appearances on Sesame Street from 2009 to 2011.
Knowings’ death comes jut months after another All That alum passed.

Police told People that she was “subsequently struck by a black and grey sedan” and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Underwood and Knowings did not appear in the series together. Knowings made her final appearance in 1999, and Underwood joined the cast for the final season in 2005, appearing in seven episodes.
