Tom Hanks’ divisive son Chet Hanks has posted wild footage from the moment he confronted comedian Eric Andre after years of feuding with the star of The Eric Andre Show.
Chet, 36, can be seen walking behind Andre, 43, and his entourage at ComplexCon at the start of the 45-second clip.

He reaches past what appears to be members of Andre’s security team to grab the comedian by the shoulder, prompting Andre to turn and greet him with a smile.
The interaction quickly soured when Chet tried to call the comedian out, at which point one of Andre’s team told the person recording “no video” was allowed.
The clip then cuts to a different angle of Chet trying to follow Andre as he walked away, before laughing and saying the confrontation was “a long time coming”.
“Finally ran into @ericf--kingandre, who apparently travels to ComplexCon with 4 security guards (because the environment makes him uneasy) and who had NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his own show!!” Chet captioned the clip.
“Until after being sheltered by his security team, began foaming at the mouth and admitted it was because he had a problem with me ‘mocking Caribbean culture’ when I did my Jamaican accent all those years ago,” he continued.
“WHO KNEW that in addition to the brain rot and poop joke humor he is known for, Eric is also such a passionate cultural activist!!! Great running into you Eric!!!!”
There’s a lot to unpack there, so let’s start with Chet’s claims about Andre’s show.
He appeared on The Eric Andre Show back in 2023, after which Andre called him “emotionally disturbed” in an interview with Rolling Stone.
“He stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders. It was very dangerous,” Andre told the outlet, adding that his team “edited out all his bulls--t!“.

Chet didn’t take kindly to the comments and claimed in an Instagram rant that Andre was just bitter Chet outshone him on his own show.
As for Andre’s alleged ComplexCon comments about Chet’s Jamaican accent, that’s a reference to several times he was caught appearing to mimic Jamaican patois on red carpets and in social media videos circa 2020.
Chet was accused of cultural appropriation at the time but defended his use of the accent on social media.
“If I get on a binge and I watch a bunch of English gangster movies, and I go around, ordering a coffee at Starbucks and I’m with my friend and I go, ‘Give me a latte, guvna,’ I’m not sh--ting on English people,” he said.

Critics pointed out that English people have not faced the same historic oppression as Jamaicans, and the irony of Chet defending himself in his “normal” American accent.
Chet – born Chester Marlon Hanks – is the eldest of Tom Hanks’ two children with his second wife Rita Wilson, 69. The younger is Truman, 31.
Tom, 70, also shares two older children with his first wife, actress Samantha Lewes – son Colin, 48, and daughter Elizabeth, 44.
