Young Charlize Theron clueless about stardom in '90s flashback: 'I was never even aware of the Oscars'
She may be one of the most in-demand stars of Tinseltown, but in the '90s Charlize Theron had no idea how much her life would change.
In this unearthed E! video from 1996, the future Oscar winner explains how her upbringing in South Africa left her clueless about the demands of stardom.
At the time the 39-year-old star had just got her big break in crime-comedy 2 Days in the Valley alongside Teri Hatcher and Jeff Daniels.
From there she scored parts in That Thing You Do, Devil's Advocate , The Astronaut's Wife and more, eventually winning an Oscar in 2004 for her role as a serial killer in Monster. See the clip below.
