Britney Spears' social media manager confirms the singer posts her own content to Instagram and fans should be 'supportive'

Britney Spears' social media team, Crowd Surf, has set the record straight about who really runs the singer's Instagram account.

Co-founder Cassie Petrey spoke out on the platform yesterday to address "a lot of inaccurate theories" floating around regarding Spears' page. First and foremost, she Petrey wants fans to know that the 39-year-old singer sources and posts all the content herself.

"Britney creates her own posts and writes her own captions for Instagram. She finds the google images, Pinterest images, quotes, memes, and everything else herself. Nobody is suggesting any of that stuff to her," Petrey said.

"She generally edits the videos herself. If a video she sends in is edited by her social media team, it's because she gave specific instructions and asked for it to be edited that way. Then she sees it and decides if she wants to post it or not."

In the past, Spears has directly told fans that she in charge of her Instagram account but still theories continue to flood the internet, namely that she is planting hidden messages in her posts about her real feelings towards her conservatorship.

"She has stated many times that she creates the posts, but people continue to believe conspiracy theories over what Britney says over and over again," Petrey wrote in her Tuesday post.

"Britney is not 'asking for help' or leaving secret messages in her social media. She is literally just living her life and trying to have fun on Instagram."

Petrey said that above all, Spears is just trying to show her true self on her platform and people should cut her some slack and stop with the conspiracy theories.

"In terms of being supportive of Britney on her social media, the best thing you can do for her is just be nice," Petrey said. "That's all she really wants. Don't bully her. She doesn't deserve it.

"She's having fun creating posts and sharing images that she likes. That's it. There's not some secret agenda to it. She's just having a good time, and I hope this helps people see it for what it actually is."
