Britney Spears reckons she can run 100 metres faster than Usain Bolt

It looks like Britney Spears is using her social distancing time productively, rather than just sitting on the couch bingeing Netflix like the rest of us.

If her latest Instagram is anything to go by, Spears has been using this downtime to do some athletics training in the backyard.

Despite breaking her foot less than two months ago, the 'Clumsy' singer claims that she just finished a 100-metre run... in less than 6 seconds. She's since deleted the Instagram post, claiming it was a joke.

"Ran my first 5!!!!," she captioned the now-deleted screenshot of a stopwatch timer displaying 5.97 seconds. "Getting over your fear of pushing it in the beginning is key …. once I did that I hit 5 !!!!! Usually I run 6 or 7 …. my first try was 9 …. and now I did it whoop !!!!! 100 meter dash."

As some people pointed out in the comments, Usain Bolt holds the world record for fastest 100-metre dash, clocking in at 9.58 seconds. So Spears is doing pretty well!

While it obviously wasn't a real claim, Spears' fans were quick to fill her Instagram comment section with messages like "queen of world records" and "queen of rounding down".

This morning, Spears uploaded a fashion video to her Instagram, and added a little update to the 100-metre dash situation.

"PS …. obviously I was joking about running the 100 meter dash in 5.97 seconds …. the world record is held by Usain Bolt which is 9.58 seconds …. but you better believe I'm coming for the world record 😂 !!!! #joking"

Queen of jokes!

Earlier this week the singer called for the redistribution of wealth amid the coronavirus pandemic that's economically crippling the United States. She also participated in the #DoYourPartChallenge on Instagram, pledging to buy groceries and help out people in need.
