Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron are reportedly dating after being introduced by Sean Penn

Brad Pitt is courting another Hollywood star, if reports are to be believed.

According to The Sun, the 55-year-old actor is quietly dating Charlize Theron -- and they met through Theron's ex, Sean Penn.

"They have been casually seeing each other for nearly a month now," a source told The Sun. "They've been friends for some time -- ironically through Sean -- but things have developed."

The other piece of 'proof' of a burgeoning relationship between Pitt and Theron, 43, is their alleged interaction at the Chateau Marmont in LA last weekend. Pitt had hosted a screening of the awards season film If Beale Street Could Talk, while Theron was a guest of honour at an event for ROMA.

"Brad came over to Chateau afterwards, changed his outfit and joined Charlize in a corner of the bar," said a source, who seemed to notice small details. "She was on a vodka cocktail while he stuck to mineral water. They were ridiculously touchy-feely and his arm was around her back. At one point he winked at her."

"Brad seemed in a really good place -- they both looked really happy," the source added.

Theron is not the first person Pitt has been linked to since he split from Angelina Jolie in 2016.

In April last year it was reported that Pitt was trying to romance Neri Oxman, an acclaimed architect who also teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

But those rumours didn't last for very long, and Oxman herself "emphatically" denied they were an item in an interview with The New York Times in October. She revealed she'd been dating billionaire hedge fund manager William A. Ackman.

Meanwhile, Pitt and Jolie, 43, reached a final agreement over the custody of their six children -- Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne -- in November 2018, after more than two years of often bitter negotiations that played out in the public.
