Bob Odenkirk suffering with memory loss after heart attack on set
Bob Odenkirk has revealed he's still suffering from major setbacks after having a heart attack.
The actor, 59, suffered a heart attack while on the set of Stan series Better Call Saul while filming in New Mexico in July 2021.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, published over the weekend, Odenkirk explained how his "small heart attack" left him with memory loss of the day of his health scare as well as the first couple of weeks of his recovery.

"I missed out on that existential lightning bolt. On the other hand, there's a lingering …, " he recalled while laughing. "Is there such a thing as a lingering lightning bolt? We'll invent that term."
Odenkirk added that he was lucky the incident occurred on set, surrounded by crew members rather than in his trailer alone. According to The Guardian, the "on-set medic gave him CPR, and she had a defibrillator in her car" before he was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque where he was admitted for a week.
When asked if the heart attack changed his outlook on life in any way, Odenkirk responded: "I think I'm still thinking about it."

The Emmy nominee collapsed on set July 27, 2021 shortly after filming and was rushed to the hospital. On August 7, the actor took to social media to confirm he had "a small heart attack" and to assure fans he was feeling better.
"I'd known since 2018 that I had this plaque buildup in my heart," Odenkirk told The New York Times earlier this month about his medical emergency. "I went to two heart doctors at Cedars-Sinai, and I had dye and an M.R.I. and all that stuff, and the doctors disagreed."

Once Odenkirk recovered, it was back to the set to continue filming the final season of the hit show.
The acclaimed Breaking Bad prequel series is signing off after six seasons and are about a week away from wrapping up filming.
"The other day, I kind of had a little breakdown on the set, where I got pretty emotional. I couldn't do the scene," Odenkirk told The Guardian, admitting that the realisation of series ending hasn't quite hit him yet. "I don't know what to do about it. My brain is like: 'F--k it. What else we got? Think about something else.'"
The sixth and final season of Better Call Saul is set to air later this year.
