Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell hint at engagement: 'Perfect place to be proposed to'

Fans are convinced Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell have become engaged while on the European holiday of a lifetime.

The pair, who have been together for more than three years, have been travelling through Italy and France, and have shared loved-up snaps with their fans along the way.

But one particular photo has caused a flurry of excitement.

"We enjoyed the sunshine in Venice while getting totally, happily lost amongst the colourful buildings and winding water," Irwin, 19, captioned an Instagram Boomerang on January 4. "This was a magical day💛"

In the short clip, the couple are beaming as they stand side-by-side, while Irwin lifts her left hand revealing something shiny on her finger.

Eagle-eyed fans flocked to comment.

"Did I notice a ring on her left hand?" one person wrote.

"Hmm do I see a ring? Did they get engaged and I missed it?" Another person commented.

"That’s definitely the perfect place to be purposed to!!!" Someone else said.

Irwin and Powell, 20, first met in November 2013 when the American wakeboarder visited Australia Zoo on a trip Down Under.

"I was there holding my echidna and was like, oh I'll give this wakeboarder a tour," Bindi recalled to TODAY early last year. "And I met him and his family and went, gee, he's not too bad, is he?"

Powell later wrote to Terri Irwin to ask if he could "stay in touch" with her daughter.

And the rest is history!
