Billy Ray Cyrus says he's 'not lookin back' amid divorce from Aussie singer Firerose
Billy Ray Cyrus is focusing on his future amid his divorce from Aussie singer, Firerose.
Cyrus took to Instagram to share a note given to him by fellow country singer, Johnny Cash, in June 1992.
At the time, Cyrus' hit Achy Breaky Heart had just been released, and Cash noted that he was watching his friend cop "the same kind of flak" he once saw Elvis Presley take on.

"I made a promise to myself not to look back and only look forward," the Could've Been Me singer captioned the post.
"Derrek made this incredible image from @johnnycash's letter and reminded me… "Cyrus" he said … you're not lookin back. You're in the present . On the 12 of June '92 Cash wrote "I'm in your corner ". That's present tense."

In his note, Cash congratulated Cyrus on the way he was handling the "flak" he was receiving at the time.
"In your case, as in Elvis', the good outweighs the bad," he penned. "Let 'em have it. I'm in your corner."
Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose after just seven months of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct," as per documents obtained by People.
He's now filed an emergency motion in Tennessee court seeking a temporary restraining order in an attempt to keep his former partner from any "unauthorised" use of his funds.

According to People, the country singer alleges that Firerose spent a total of $96,986 (approximately $146,815 AUD) on unauthorised charges to his business account.
He is now seeking annulment on the grounds of fraud.
The duo have reportedly known each other for several years, however, didn't start dating until August 2022.
They tied the knot on October 10, 2023 and Cyrus filed for divorce on May 22, 2024.
