Billy Bob Thornton breaks silence on X-rated scene in The Landman: 'Yikes'
Billy Bob Thornton has broken his silence, speaking for the first time about his shocking full-frontal Landman scene.
The 70-year-old actor admitted he didn’t know what the reaction was to the X-rated scene, but said it was “funny” during a chat with US Weekly.

“But obviously before we filmed, it was kind of like, ‘Whoa, yikes. This is interesting,’” he told the outlet.
Thornton said it was a “funny scene” but added he didn’t care about doing it.
The full-frontal scene is from a December 2025 episode of Landman, which airs on Paramount+.
In the moment, Thornton’s character Tommy woke up in bed and accidentally flashed an employee at the hotel.
The hotel worker started to scream and Tommy – who was still asleep – rolled over and completely exposed himself.
The woman asked Tommy not to “rape” her, which is when Angela, played by Ali Larter, rushed into the scene.
“Put your d--k away!” Angela yelled at Tommy before turning her focus to the hotel worker.
“Don’t be scared, darling. That wasn’t about you. He eats [prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction] Cialis like M&Ms and runs into door jams all morning with that thing. I’m so sorry about that.”

In January, Christian Wallace, the co-creator of Landman, told the Hollywood Reporter that Thornton’s scene wasn’t actually as revealing as audiences may have thought.
“We had an on-set intimacy coordinator, and the original prosthetic she brought in made everyone laugh,” he told the outlet.
“We were like, ‘No.’ So we went with a more humble alternative.
“But it is surprising to me that people think that was actually Billy doing full-frontal nudity.”
The actor admitted he had no real idea about what the reaction was to the scene, which came to life with the help of an intimacy co-ordinator. AP
Wallace noted that the final cut was all thanks to the intimacy co-ordinator.
“So I should say props to our intimacy coordinator for making it extremely realistic, and to the props team. They had a whole rig, as Billy called it: ‘Got my rig on.’”
Landman has been renewed for a third season.
