Dog the Bounty Hunter star Beth Chapman has been hospitalised at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu.

The 51-year-old reality star, who is the wife of Duane "Dog" Chapman, the show's lead, has been placed in a medically-induced coma. She is also battling cancer.

"Beth is one of the strongest people I've ever known, and if anyone can beat this, it's her," the family's agent said in a statement. "No matter what happens, she and the family have placed all of their hope, faith, and trust in God. Other than that, I'd just ask that all of her and Duane's fans keep Beth and the entire family in their prayers."

That's exactly what Dog has also asked for.

"Please say your prayers for Beth right now thank you love you," the 66-year-old bounty hunter tweeted.

Beth was diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer in 2017 and has been in and out of hospital ever since.

Her cancer battle was documented in the A&E special Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives. "As I start this battle, I don't see a lot of optimism," she said in the program. "They give me 50/50 chances."

She underwent surgery to remove a mass and went into remission. Sadly her cancer returned a year later and she had to go through another round of surgery due to a "blockage" in her throat.

In December, Dog revealed Beth's cancer had spread throughout her throat and lungs, and is "incurable".

After news broke of Beth's condition, the couple's daughter Bonnie shared a photo of her parents with two love heart emojis.

Dog the Bounty Hunter ran weekly for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012. Dog has a new series coming up called Dog's Most Wanted, and Beth has appeared by her husband's side in the show despite her condition.
