Barry Manilow has announced a break from touring, just days after he was forced to cancel two shows due to “technical and vocal problems.”

The 83-year-old confirmed the news himself in an Instagram statement, stating he would be pausing his tour for a few weeks after “pushing too hard” at previous concerts.

“Hi everybody, Barry here. I want you to be the first to know that we’re going to take a quick break,” the post began.

“We just finished a fantastic summer tour. 29 shows in 68 days. The shows were fantastic. The audiences were fantastic, and I sounded fantastic.

“But it seems that we were pushing a little too hard. Now we all need to sit down and shut up. So, we’re going to take a break until we return to the Westgate Las Vegas on October 8th when I’ll be singing like a bird.”

He concluded by saying: “I hope to see you then.”

Fans rushed to the comments to offer their support and well-wishes for the Copacabana singer.

“Take care of yourself Barry that’s the most important thing!” one fan wrote.

“Relax and recharge. Don’t push yourself too hard. We will always be there for you,” another said.

Others called Manilow a “national treasure” and assured him they’d be there when he returns to the stage.

The statement comes four days after the singer was forced to cancel two shows in Vegas after suffering technical and vocal issues.

“We’re very sorry, but we have to cancel tonight and tomorrow’s performances. Due to technical and vocal problems, we’re unable to put on our show,” the Grammy winner announced on social media.

Manilow has had a challenging year despite embarking on a massive tour. He rescheduled shows earlier this year after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

Doctors found a cancerous spot on his lungs during an MRI, which he underwent successful surgery to remove.

The singer-songwriter underwent the scan because he suffered from repeated bronchitis infections in a span of six weeks. The doctors caught and removed it early, and he didn’t need to undergo chemotherapy or radiation.
