Aussie Olympian Scotty James announces engagement to F1 heiress Chloe Stroll

Aussie Olympian Scotty James has announced his engagement to Formula 1 heiress Chloe Stroll.

Taking to Instagram, the couple both shared the same video taken just after the proposal, showing off the new bling on Stroll's finger, along with their excitement at the news.

"Yayyyyy we're getting married," James, 27, said down the camera, with his wife-to-be screeching.

"Everyone - this is my fiancee," he added proudly.

"This is my fiance," Stroll, 26, added before bashfully giggling in delight.

Sharing a photo of James on bended knee, Stroll captioned the post: "Forever".

Celebrity friends including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Torah Bright, Jess Hart and Elle Macpherson were quick to congratulate the couple.

The proposal took place in Switzerland, where James is training for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing next year.

At the 2018 Games, the snowboarder and three-time Olympian won a bronze medal in the halfpipe and was named flagbearer for the Aussie team at the opening ceremony.

Stroll is the daughter of billionaire Lawrence Stroll, the executive chairman and part-owner of the Aston Martin F1 team, who is worth an estimated US$3 billion (approx. $4.24 billion).

The Canadian songwriter and musician met the Aussie snowboarder through her brother — F1 race car driver Lance Stroll — and they began dating in 2019.
