Aussie model and beauty founder Casey James shares tragic family update

Aussie model Casey James revealed the heartbreaking phone call that “changed her life” in an emotional update.

The Copini Beauty co-founder, 28, took to Instagram writing: “10 days ago I got a call from the Department of Foreign Affairs saying my dad had been in an accident and is in a coma in the ICU in Bangkok.”

Within two hours James and her husband, high-profile Sydney real estate agent Warren Ginsberg, were on a flight to Thailand.

“How quickly your life can change in an instant is so scary, and I know this feeling all too well,” she went on.

“It’s my mum’s 57th birthday today, from heaven, and I’m sitting here in the ICU thinking, what the actual f--k is my life and how did it get to this.”

James shared the heartbreaking update with friends and fans alongside a black-and-white photo of her hand gently holding her dad’s, while he continues to stay in hospital.

The star revealed her dad has been in a coma for 10 days and counting.

“What his future looks like is unknown. I am so scared by the reality of possibly losing both my parents within 2 years,” she wrote.

“My dad is one hell of a fighter, and all we can do is pray. I guess I am writing this to say, hold your loved ones close because life can change in a blink of an eye.”

Taking to her stories, James admitted she was feeling “numb” as she processed the news and the reality of challenges she’s had to face these past two years.

“Everyone says how strong I am. I f--king hate hearing his because do I have any other option? No,” she further wrote.

The star added she will continue to “live for my mum and dad”, who she called her “heroes” in life.

Friends expressed their heartbreak in the comments section of the post, as Aussie journalist and Haléau beauty founder Eleanor Pendleton wrote: “I’m so sorry. Sending you and your family love and feeling.”

“Sending you love and prayers. So sorry Casey x,” commented friend and former Miss Universe Australia Maria Thattil.

“Oh Casey, I’m sending you so much love and strength,” said a third.

The model’s mum passed away in September 2024 after a battle with cancer. James at the time spoke of an “indescribable pain” she felt after the profound loss.
