Beloved Neighbours star Terence Donovan dies aged 90
Aussie actor and Neighbours and Home and Away star Terence Donovan has died. He was 90.
His son, fellow actor, Jason Donovan, 58, announced news on Sunday on Instagram, remembering his father as a “larger than life” character.

“It is with great sadness but also a sense of celebration of a long full life that myself and my brother Paul announce our father Terence died peacefully last night here in Melbourne,” Jason wrote.
Jason described his father’s passing as “an extremely emotional time”.
“Our dad was a huge character, larger than life. He was our best friend ... our world!” he said.
“We will desperately miss him but we take comfort knowing we were all here by his side in his final days.
“Knowing that he lived life to the max. Knowing that in life it’s either a daring adventure or nothing at all!
“How lucky are we to have a Dad like you.”

He thanked and staff at Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne for caring for Terence.
Terence was born in London in 1935 and moved to Australia with his family when he was 14.
He went on to become a star of the small screen. Terence’s big break came when he got the part of Detective Mick Peters on Division 4, which he played from 1969 to 1975.
He had roles on Prisoner, Sons and Daughters, A Country Practice and The Flying Doctors and starred on Home and Away as Al Simpson.

He starred as Doug Will is Neighbours from 1990 to 1994.
Terence’s stint on Neighbours came just after son Jason left after playing Scott Robinson from 1986 to 1989.
