Titmus said she hasn't gone through many of her social media messages, though she admitted, "When I logged back on, it was just like a notification bubble for every single notification... 100, 100, 100 just flashing.

"I've gone through a few of the DMs... there's been some real wild ones," she confessed.

When asked about the nature of the messages, Titmus explained they were mainly "inappropriate", adding, "I got some good giggles, but I think, 'Geez, you're an odd cat!'"

"You've gotta laugh at it, don't you?" Fitzy replied.

"But these are people all around the world, and they honestly think that they know you, Ariarne!"

As for the gold medallist's future plans, Titmus says she is planning some well-deserved rest and relaxation after a hectic year.

"I definitely am enjoying the few bits and pieces I've done in the media. I really enjoy it, and I feel quite comfortable in this space, so I'd love to get into there a bit more," she shared.

"I love doing the speaking circuit and sharing my story. I think people are fascinated with Dean [Titmus' coach Dean Boxall] and I, and us together.

"I'm giving myself 12 months just to mentally recharge the batteries, feel the hunger again, but I'm looking forward to just having a bit of me time."
