Model Annalise Braakensiek farewelled by hundreds of mourners at touching Bondi Beach memorial service

Model Annalise Braakensiek has been remembered in a beautiful memorial on Sydney's Bondi Beach, the same place she was discovered by a photographer at just 15.

In a touching display, around 200 mourners gathered on the iconic shore at sunrise today to pay their respects to the model, who tragically took her own life two weeks ago. She was 46.

Organiser and friend Veronika Beck made sure the ceremony was filled with things Braakensiek loved. At 6am, mourners sat silently and mediated before laying frangipanis, her favourite flower, in the water.

Braakensiek's estranged husband, stockbroker Danny Goldberg -- who she split from in April last year after 16 years of marriage -- led the tributes as he took a wreath of frangipanis out into the ocean while assisted by lifeguards on a jet ski. Meanwhile, other mourners paddled out on their surfboards to form an honorary circle.

"Magical morning," Beck wrote on Instagram. "Beyond what we had imagined. The spirit of humanity shone brightly. #forannalisewithlove."

Mourners -- including Braakensiek's mother Veera, sister Deva and model friend Jodhi Meares -- then prayed and recited lyrics from Snatam Kaur's song 'Long Time Sun': "May the long time sun, Shine upon you, All love surround you, And the pure light, With you, Guide your way on, Guide your way on."

They then congregated at the nearby eatery, Bucket List, to sip on a cup of hot lemon water, which again was part of Braakensiek's morning ritual.

Braakensiek was found dead at her Potts Point apartment in Sydney on January 6 after concerns were raised for her welfare. She often spoke out about her struggles with depression and was an ambassador for suicide prevention charity R U OK.
