Hunger Games star Alexander Ludwig announces engagement to girlfriend Lauren Dear

Alexander Ludwig is engaged!

The 28-year-old Vikings star and his girlfriend, Lauren Dear, announced the exciting news on social media.

"Goldilocks and Bambi live happily ever after," the couple wrote in the caption on their respective accounts, alongside photos of the two with Dear wearing her engagement ring.

Ludwig later thanked his followers for their kind messages on his Instagram Story.

"Thank you to everyone for all the amazing well wishes. Yes, I am the luckiest man in the damn world to have this one by my side," he said.

The Canadian actor, who played Cato in the first Hunger Games movie, made his relationship public with his girlfriend earlier this year. Prior to Dear, Ludwig dated his Vikings co-star Kristy Dawn Dinsmore.

The newly-engaged couple regularly post photos of their time spent together. In October, Dear posted a cute selfie with Ludwig in a cornfield.

"It's us again, being cute and stuff," she captioned the photo at the time.
