Adele sparks engagement rumours after sporting giant diamond ring at BRIT Awards

Has Adele's boyfriend popped the question?

That's what fans were wondering when the chart-topping superstar turned up at the BRIT Awards wearing a giant diamond ring on that finger last night.

The 'Easy on Me' singer paired her custom velvet Armani Privé gown with a giant Lorraine Schwartz-designed pear-shaped diamond ring on her left hand. Adele, 33, is currently dating sports agent Rich Paul.

Fashion writer and media personality Evan Ross Katz shared an Instagram post writing, "Adele steps out for her first red carpet appearance in five years at the BRIT AWARDS, cinched and serving in a custom black velvet and tulle gown courtesy of Armani Privé — and a noticeable ring on her finger! Is she… y'know… engaged?"

A Twitter user, who goes by @meanddarling, wrote, "ADELE OH MY GOD wait a min- is she engaged? Did I miss something?"

Meanwhile, the singer had her ex-husband, Simon Konecki, and their son, Angelo, on her mind as she fought back tears while accepting the night's biggest award.

"I'd like to dedicate this award to my son, and to Simon, to his dad," Adele said, after winning album of the year for her record 30, which she has previously said is an attempt to explain her divorce to Angelo. "This album was all of our journey, not just mine."

"I'm very proud of myself for sticking to my guns and putting out an album that was about something that was so personal to me [because] not many people would do stuff like that anymore," she added.

Adele and Konecki began dating in 2011 and welcomed Angelo the following year. They tied the knot in a secret 2016 ceremony, with Adele publicly addressing the wedding for the first time during an acceptance speech at the 2017 Grammys.

In September 2019, after announcing in April that she and the charity entrepreneur were separating after three years of marriage, Adele filed for divorce and their court documents were finalised on March 4, 2021.

As of July 2021, Adele is in a relationship with Paul, 40. The couple seemingly confirmed their romance after going Instagram official in September last year.
