Adele was in the middle of a show at her Las Vegas residency at the beginning of Pride Month when she reacted to two words she reportedly heard shouted out.
In a video posted to TikTok, the superstar singer is seen asking, "What was that? Did you just say Pride sucks?"

The singer told the person "if you've got nothing nice to say shut up, alright?"
However, some viewers on TikTok are claiming that Adele misheard what was said.
"He didn't say pride sucks, he said work sucks after she said that her work is during the weekends.
"It was just a misunderstanding 🙁 I was there when he said it," commented one user who claims they were at the show on June 1.
Other fans echoed the same thought, commenting that it was all a misunderstanding and that the fan did say "work sucks."

However that hasn't deterred fans from backing the singer, with many saying that regardless of whether or not it was a misunderstanding, they appreciate how boldly she defended Pride Month.
"I figured that's what he said too since she was talking about work," replied the person who posted the video to a comment claiming the audience member said 'work sucks.'
"I just loved how she stood up for pride even though she misunderstood what he said."
Adele and her team have not made any further comment about the situation at the time of publication.
