Australia’s most tattooed woman crosses border for ‘highly illegal’ body modification
Australia’s most tattooed woman, Amber Luke, has flown halfway across the world to Spain for two major body modifications that are outlawed in Australia.
The 31-year-old, who has spent upwards of $250,000 changing her look, has jetted to Barcelona to insert a ‘coin slot’ into her ear and have a silicone bow implanted under the skin of her hand.

Luke has over 600 tattoos covering 98 per cent of her body as well as a multitude of extreme modifications including a snake split tongue, fang teeth and tattooed eyeballs.
Known online as Dragon Girl, she took to social media to tell her tens of thousands of followers about the new procedures.
“Australia has made them highly illegal for seven years. I’m about to get two body mods done. I am super f--king keen,” she said.
The Instagram model revealed she’d been planning the changes for “a while”.
“I am getting a coin slot in my ear. They take a hole out of your helix that they put different earrings in and layer it. And for the past year and a half I have planned to have this body mod in my hand, it is a silicone bow, I am very excited!”
Under Australian law, the latter procedure, known as subdermal implants, are illegal due to concerns around unlicensed surgery and the severe health risks involved.

The ‘coin slot’ procedure is not strictly illegal in Australia, but they are heavily regulated because it requires cutting and removing tissue.
In Spain, they are legal but require a licensed medical professional.
“The end result is to have a nice implant that is not all f--ked up! That is going to be my mission in Barcelona, and healing,” she said.
Luke later revealed the results of her ‘coin slot’ procedure on her subscriber channel.
Luke has reportedly spent over a quarter of a million dollars on her tattoos including her eyeball tattoos the first of which left her blind for three weeks.
She’s previously opened up about how her alternative appearance makes it difficult for her to find a job.
“I’m not going to sugar-coat it, it has limited my [employment] options but that’s okay,” she said.

“Because the way I see it is, I don’t want to work for a company that’s shallow-minded [and can’t] look past my image. They won’t look at my work ethic, they won’t look at my morals or my values or what I have to bring to the table.”
