The Arrested Development easter egg in Avengers: Infinity War

Be warned. This article mentions a moment in the new Avengers movie that is so inconsequential to the plot that it barely counts as a spoiler.

But honestly, it's been out for seven days already. If you're that precious, you should have seen it earlier.

Because in amongst the countless appearances of characters, there's a cameo in Avengers: Infinity War that certainly doesn't belong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Like Pickle, you may have missed it in the movie itself, and only spotted something awry in the 17 hours' worth of credits you have to watch before the post-credits scene.

Amongst the VFX artists, gaffers, best boys and receptionists in the credits is an attribution to a character from Arrested Development.

Yes, the early 2000s' TV comedy Arrested Development.

Eagle-eyed viewers would have spotted it.

In the scene on the planet Knowhere, in the shop of The Collector, sits the character Tobias Funke, stuck in a display case.

He may look totally otherworldly, given he is a bespectacled, moustachioed man who is entirely blue.

Arrested Development fans will remember that Tobias's failed acting career included a stint as an understudy for the Blue Man Group.

The directors of Infinity War Anthony and Joe Russo got started as directors on the Emmy-winning series, which was axed after three seasons before becoming a huge cult hit.

You probably didn't notice when you watched the movie, simply because there's a whole lot going on in that scene.

Just like you missed the Bluth family stair-car in that scene in Captain America: Civil War.
