This is what Anthony Hopkins does when he's bored

From The Elephant Man to Remains of the Day, Anthony Hopkins is perhaps Britain's most acclaimed actor working today.

And with that mellifluous Welsh brogue and his habit of playing wise authority figures, we can be forgiven for thinking the Oscar winner remains dignified in his spare time.

And then Sir Anthony posts this on Twitter.

Frankly, this is more unsettling that his "fava beans and a nice Chianti" scene from Silence of the Lambs.

Yes, he has a knighthood. Yes, he turns 81 this December. Yes, he has played two US presidents and a god.

And this is what he does for fun.

This, in addition to composing operas and Cubist paintings.

We ought to make sure Sir Anthony has a steady stream of blank sheet music and some acrylic paint and canvases, because we don't want him so bored that he keeps making these weird videos.

Maybe he should be settling down with the new series of Westworld, which premieres tonight.
