Amy Shark confronts man on his phone during her performance in awkward footage
Amy Shark has confronted a man in the middle of her live performance after spotting him on his phone instead of paying attention to her music.
The Australian singer, real name Amy Louise Billings, shared footage of the awkward interaction to TikTok on Friday with the caption: “I take my job very seriously thank you.”

In the clip, Billings can be seen performing her hit I Said Hi at what appears to be a corporate event with guests seated at large round tables.
As she moves through the crowd, she spots one man who seems to be distracted by his phone.
She immediately zeroes in on the guy and creeps closer before plopping down in his lap and belting out a few lyrics.

It certainly got his attention, the man shrugging and looking bashful as the camera zoomed in on him.
Billings then stood up and walked away, but not before shooting the man a shrug of her own and stealing a glass of champagne from his table.
“This is the best event of my life,” she said between verses, prompting a few chuckles. She wrote over the footage, “This guy wasn’t watching me enough”.
Many of Billings’ fans cheered her on in the comments, praising her for calling the man out but still having a sense of humour about it.

Others weren’t so kind, with one writing: “Not everyone likes your music, and that’s OK.”
This isn’t the first time Shark has courted controversy at a corporate event.
Scathing remarks she made about the NRL underpaying music artists at an AFL event in 2025 resurfaced earlier this month, just hours after she was announced as one of the NRL Grand Final pre-game entertainment acts.
“I’m from Queensland, so unfortunately I’ve had NRL pushed in front of me, which kind of sucks,” she told a crowd of VIP guests at the AFL’s Gather Round in April last year.
“I’m not just saying that because I’m playing tonight. You guys [at the AFL], you know what’s up. We don’t need to totally drill the NRL into the ground but you guys know what’s up.
“In case someone is filming this … actually you know what, screw them. Honestly, they just screw around artists, you guys actually understand artists, thank you for doing that.”
Billings had previously been the headline performer at the 2020 NRL grand final.
Within hours of the comments resurfacing, she took to social media to clear things up, writing: “11 months ago. I love the game… don’t believe the noise.”
Billings went on to perform at the 2026 grand final with Dave Gleeson, lead singer of legendary Newcastle rockers The Screaming Jets, members of Grinspoon and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, and Reuben Styles from Peking Duk.
