Turns out enough people have found themselves asking that question, that it's been turned into a TV show that's available to stream for free on 9Now.

In Episode 1 Kim renovates Laura and Ned Hodge's home. The couple purchased the house after they fell in love with the backyard.

But as for the house, well, they hated it.

"It's embarrassing," Laura told Kim.

Laura then took Kim inside and revealed just why she isn't a fan of the house, showing her the messy loungeroom and cluttered spaces.

The kitchen in particular was very small and left Laura "frustrated" in the space. And for the record, "frustration" was a common theme for Laura and Ned as they gave Kim a tour of their chaotic home.

"It's a hodgepodge at the Hodges. Every room is a mixed-use room," Kim observed.

Laura and Ned had saved $200,000USD ($320,000AUD) in order to overhaul their house.

Kim's plan to transform the home included creating designated spaces for a pantry, laundry and office, as well as adding an extension to allow for a master bedroom complete with a large ensuite.

She also planned to remove the large wall between the living and dining room, allowing for the kitchen to be expanded. In addition a huge glass door was to be installed in order to allow more natural light to flow into the space.

After around three months of renovations, Laura and Ned walked through their new home for the first time to see the incredible results.

Laura's first response was to just scream.

Adjoining the living and dining areas was a gorgeous kids space complete with a vibrant jungle wallpaper.
