WATCH: Tammy Slaton confirms new boyfriend Phillip and defends their 'happiness' after recent heartbreak on 1000-Lb Sisters

Tammy Slaton revealed she had a new man in her life, weeks after announcing her split from ex-boyfriend Jerry Sykes.

In an episode of 1000-Lb Sisters – which you can watch for free on 9Now – the star confirmed Jerry had called time on their relationship as she prepared to go into rehab.

"He left me," Tammy revealed. "I wanted things he didn't."

In an episode of the reality show, after coming home from rehab early, Tammy announced she's now met someone who "makes [her] happy".

Her family however, had their concerns and in an emotional confrontation, Tammy ended up in tears.

Tammy met Phillip online in an BBW online chat group, the same place she met her ex Jerry. Tammy previously explained that BBW was an online community for "big beautiful women".

"[Phillip] actually came to meet me recently," she revealed.

"We talked and held hands, and just watched TV and got to know each other. I like everything about him, I like how he makes me feel.

"He makes me happy," she smiled.

But her new boyfriend's online "persona" was a concern for Tammy's family.

"So he likes big girls," Tammy defended. "He's just a supporter."

Tammy explained that he was very much supportive of her weight-loss journey.

"No, he don't want me to get under 300 [pounds]," Tammy however revealed. "And I'm fine with that."

But when Tammy's brother Chris found out who she was "secretly dating", he was not impressed.

Scrolling through Tammy's Instagram at the time, Chris read out loud: "Currently dating the BBW king, he only associates with women who weigh 300 plus pounds."

"You can't love somebody for their size," said Chris. "The worst part is, she is going to have to be talked to about it."

Chris feared that if Tammy continued her relationship, she wouldn't stay on track with her weight loss. The same fear the family had about Tammy's ex-partner Jerry.

"I still want Tammy to be happy but I'm not going to let that happen again," Chris told cameras. "If he's going to enable her, then he needs to hit the road."

"We're very concerned," Misty laid out for Tammy.

As you can see in the video above, the confrontation did not end well.

"He's not Jerry, he's far from Jerry," Tammy defended. "I'm trying to better myself, not go back."

"Why can't I just be happy for once," said Tammy wiping away tears.

Speaking to cameras, Tammy said: "They're holding me back for the past instead of trying to let me move forward."
