Tammy Slaton meets her nephew for the first time as her weight loss journey takes a turn for the worse on 1000-Lb Sisters

Weight loss has been a rollercoaster for the Slaton sisters, who started their journey with a combined total weight of a little over 1000 pounds (453.5kg).

While Amy has been enjoying the highs of the journey after getting passed for weight loss surgery and welcoming a son Gage, Tammy hasn't faired as well.

In an episode of 1000-Lb Sisters – which you can watch for free on 9Now – Tammy weighed in at a doctor's appointment to discover that she had failed to reach her goal of losing 25 pounds and instead gained 21 pounds.

Amy said the news of her sister gaining even more weight was "devastating".

Teetering on the edge of 700 pounds, Amy knew that Tammy's weight had finally reached the stage of 'life or death'.

"If she doesn't change something soon, she's going to lose her life," Amy feared.

Hoping to give Tammy a reason to make a change, Amy finally introduced her one-month-old son Gage to her. Tammy hadn't been able to see him as she'd been hospitalised with Covid.

"I hope meeting the baby will motivate Tammy. I want her around to see him grow up," Amy admitted.

"I love Tammy and this is a moment I've been waiting on my whole life, for her to meet my son."

Tammy couldn't contain her excitement as the moment crept closer.

"Finally, after all this time I get to see jellybean," she exclaimed.

The moment finally arrived as Amy passed Gage over to his Aunt Tammy.

"Gage looks like a little bitty football compared to Tammy," Amy giggled to cameras.

Tammy was simply smitten with her nephew and showered him with plenty of cuddles and kisses.

Amy was warmed by the moment and said she was thrilled to see Tammy and Gage already "clicking".

"I think Gage has a bond with her because he heard her voice when he was in the womb, so he knows who Aunty Tammy is," she said.

Amy didn't want to spoil the heartfelt moment but had an important message for her sister Tammy: "Me and Gage are both here for you, I just hope he gives you the motivation to lose the weight."
