Woman cries testifying about Uber driver

A woman has wept while testifying in a Perth court that an Uber Black driver put his hand up her skirt while driving her home.

Zeljko Koncarevic, 51, is on trial in Perth Magistrates Court accused of indecently assaulting the 21-year-old woman in his Jaguar in June last year.

The complainant testified on Thursday that she filmed a Snapchat video for her friends in which she danced with excitement at being driven in a Jaguar.

But she later became scared and nervous when Koncarevic placed his hand on her thigh.

"I was shocked because it was completely unexpected and I didn't want it to be there," she said.

"I didn't know what to do."

The woman brushed his hand away but he did it again and moved up her skirt and inside her underwear, she said.

As he drove towards Wireless Hill Park, she feared for her life and began "freaking out".

She shouted: "Stop! Where are you going?"

The woman then asked to go to McDonald's and tried to think of how she could get out of the car.

"I was having such an anxiety panic attack," she said.

She told Koncarevic she felt sick and entered the eatery alone.

"I was so distraught and distressed. I was crying lots, uncontrollably, I was sobbing.

"I tried to compose myself as much as I could until I got to safety."

The woman went to the toilet, then sat at a table with three other people and told them what happened before calling police as the accused paced outside.

The woman cried as a recording was played in court of her call to police in which she sobbed while explaining what happened.

Under cross-examination, the woman said although she had five alcoholic drinks that night, she was coherent.

Defence counsel Linda Black proposed it would be too difficult for Koncarevic to put his hand up the complainant's skirt because it was elastic and his arm would have been at an awkward angle, but the woman insisted it was possible.

She accepted she did not squeeze her legs closed to try to stop him, but said she froze.

The trial continues.
