Two motorcyclists on social rides with friends have died within 48 hours of each other in outback WA.

The first man was found by a rider in his group about 25 kilometres west of Warakurna, near the Northern Territory border, on Monday afternoon.

The man, aged in his 60s, was taken to Warakurna Clinic where he later died.

On Tuesday morning a second rider in the group, also aged in his 60s, crashed their motorcycle about 68km north of Warakurna. He died at the scene.

The group of 13 motorcyclists were friends on a social trip, riding far apart due to dust plumes created by each bike on the sandy road, police said.

They are urging anyone who saw the group of motorcyclists prior to the crashes to come forward.
