Police handling of Warneke case reviewed

The police investigation into the killing of Joshua Warneke in Western Australia's Kimberley region is being examined by the state's corruption watchdog.

Police interviews of the murder suspect were deemed inadmissible by the Supreme Court of WA last year, prompting Mr Warneke's mother, Ingrid Bishop, to call for an independent review of the case.

The Corruption and Crime Commission says that its investigation is in its final stages and a report should be ready within months.
