Perth cop wows schoolies with unexpected dance routine

A twinkle-toed cop has taken it upon himself to show the youngsters how to get down, displaying some serious dance moves at a schoolies event in Perth.

Video posted to Facebook shows the uniformed officer, fully laden with baton, gun and tactical vest, suddenly beginning to "muzz" for the benefit of his delighted audience.

But they didn't stay onlookers for long, with the boy in blue's moves proving too infectious to be enjoyed from the sidelines.

While it's not the first time we've seen police get involved in celebrations without deploying the handcuffs, it is one of the more impressive individual performances in recent memory.

His effort has been viewed on Facebook some 300,000 times since it was uploaded by Harley Anning with the simple caption "my man".
