The Northbridge Magistrates court heard there was significant concern for his mental health.

Grillo is currently being restrained to his hospital bed for the safety of staff and officers.

The 29-year-old is accused of killing his twin brother at their property, with his body found in the backyard on Thursday afternoon.

“All I can say is, it is incredibly shocking,” state government minister John Carey said.

“I think it’s shocked the local community but we do now need to see the police follow through.”

For the third day in a row, a police presence remained at the Nye Way home, where they were called to at about 2.20pm on Thursday, after another family member made the grim find.

Aerial footage captured on Friday revealed a dug-up backyard at the home where the brothers lived, where the 29-year-old man was found dead following a welfare check.

It’s alleged the man had suffered critical injuries, and it’s believed he may have been there for days, police said.

“I can confirm that the male did have some obvious injuries, however the exact nature of those injuries I’m unable to go onto at this stage,” Acting Detective Superintendent Jessica Sicuro said on Friday.

Investigators are treating the incident as an alleged family violence homicide. 9News

Rubbish bins were emptied and objects were carried away in evidence bags during the search of the property.

Detectives revealed several edged weapons were seized, along with other items, which are now being forensically examined as they investigate the alleged family violence homicide.

“This is a tragic incident and the family are heavily distressed, and we are providing them with support,” Sicuro said.

Neighbours told 9News the home had recently been sold and those living there had largely “kept to themselves”.

Grillo will face court again next Friday, and it’s understood he will then be shifted to a specialist mental health facility.
